A road match in Connecticut provided the backdrop as the Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team was upset by previously winless Post University Monday afternoon in Middlebury, Connecticut.

The Griffins fall to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Eagles improve to 1-8 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the match by winning two of the three doubles contests.  The Griffins team of Noah Cutting and Antonio Franquis recorded the only win in doubles play with a 6-3 win over Anton Andersson and Niklas Langenfeld at #1 doubles.

Cutting tied the match up at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Andersson at #1 singles before the Eagles won matches at #5 and #4 singles to take a 3-1 lead.   Franquis pulled Chestnut Hill within one 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-3) win over Gustavo Kerber at #2 singles.

Post's Dante Despontin defeated Tiago Lima, 6-7 93-7), 7-5, 6-1 at #3 singles to clinch the win for the Eagles and scored their final point with a win at 36 singles.
The men's tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, when they travel to play defending CACC Champion Jefferson University in East Falls, Philadelphia.
