Griffins and Rams Play to a 0-0 Draw

Chestnut Hill College and Shepherd University men's soccer teams played 90 minutes of soccer Wednesday afternoon with neither team scoring a goal as the game ended in a 0-0 draw at the Shepherd Soccer Complex in Shepherdstown,   West Virginia.

The Griffins are now 0-1-2 on the season while Shepherd is 1-0-2.   The draw is Chestnut Hill's second this season and their fifth in their last six games, dating back to October of last season.  It is also only their ninth 0-0 draw in program history (345 games, starting in 2004).

Griffin Goalkeeper Rodrigo Artiga earns his first shutout as a Griffin.  Artiga faced just three shots on goal, saving them all.  The Rams had a fourth shot on net which resulted in a team save by the Griffins.

The Rams goalkeeper Aiden Houck had just one save, stopping CHC's Diego Cruz in the 81st minute.  Shepherd finished the game with 15 total shots to Chestnut Hill's six.  Andres Felipe Gomez had two of the six shots with Jose Cuadra, Kevin Aguiriano and Terrance Doe adding one apiece.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, when they begin conference play with a game against Wilmington university.  Kickoff at victory field is set for 7:00 p.m.
