Rodrigo Artiga recorded his second shutout of the season, and his third tie as the Chestnut Hill College men's soccer team played Bloomfield College to a 0-0 draw at Foley Field in Bloomfield, New Jersey on Saturday.
With the draw, the Griffins are now 0-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Bloomfield is now 1-1-1 overall and in league play.
Artiga faced just three shots on goal in the game, none coming in the final 20 minutes of action for his second shutout of the season and lowered his goals against average on the season to 1.44.
Artiga's counterpart for the bears, Matthew Brun also faced just three shots on goal for the afternoon.
Dillon Raparelli recorded the Griffins' first shot on goal in the 37th minute. Terrance Doe had a header on net in the 48th minute following a corner kick. Amedeo Furano recorded the Griffins' final shot on goal in the 56th minute.
For the game the Bears outshot the Griffins 14-10 overall with each team getting three shots on net. BC also had seven corner kicks to CHC's five.
The men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 when they travel to face Goldey-Beacom College. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
