Caporellie and Dubosky Reach Milestones as Griffins Win Final Two Games at IUP Crimson Hawk Classic

Mia Caporellie and Erika Dubosky both reached career milestones as the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team won their final two matches at the IUP Crimson Hawk Classic, defeating Elizabeth City State University 3-1 and Shepherd University 3-1 Saturday.

Caporellie recorded her 3,000th career assist and Dubosky notched her 1,000th career dig in the Griffins opening match of the day against Elizabeth city State University.

Needing just 36 assists to become just the second player in program history with 3,000 career assists, Caporellie's steady play against ECSU carried her over the threshold early in the fourth set.  The senior setter had 34 assists entering the final and reached the mark on the Griffin's second point feeding Rachel Mace for the kill.  Caporellie finished the set with 13 assists to give her 47 for the match.

Caporellie joins Kennedy Sutton (3,522 assists, 2015-18) as the only two players in program history to reach the coveted 3,000 assist plateau.

Dubosky needed 13 digs to reach 1,000 for her career entered the fourth set needing just three to become just the seventh player in program history to reach 1,000 digs and the first since 2019.  The senior hitter recorded two digs early in the set and reached the mark with her final dig of the match with the Griffins' 16th point.

The Griffins and Vikings split the first two sets of their match with Chestnut Hill winning the opening set 25-20 and ECSU won the second set 25-23.  The Griffins went on to win the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-18.

In the match, Dubosky was one of four players to reach double figures for kills, notching a double-double with 12 kills to go along with her 13 digs.  Mace led the team with 17 kills while Angela April and Cha'kya Johnson had ten kills apiece.

On the defensive side, Mace joined Dubosky with a double-double notching 14 kills while Alexandra Crespin had 13 digs.  April had four blocks and Johnson added three.

In Chestnut Hill's final game, Dubosky tied the Griffins' Division II era mark for kills in a four-set match with 23 as the Griffins prevailed over Shepherd 3-1.

Similar to the ECSU match, the Griffins won the first set 25-23 and lost the second 25-19 before winning the last two sets 25-17 and 25-23.
