Griffins Shutout by Lions

The Chestnut Hill College Men's Soccer team struggled offensively as they dropped a road contest to Georgian court University, 2-0 at Investors Savings Bank field in Lakewood, New Jersey Wednesday afternoon.

The Griffins fall to 4-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Lions improve to 2-4-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Chestnut Hill did not get their first shot of the game off until the 12th minute. And went through a 17 minute stretch without getting a single shot as the Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute on a goal by Gijis Von Elf. 

The Griffins finished the half with six shots (four on frame) while the Lions put together seven (five on frame with a goal).

The Lions peppered the Griffin defense with 12 second half shots, half of which were on goal.  Von Elf scored his second goal in the 85th minute to stake the hosts to a 2-0 lead. Chestnut hill finished the game without a shot in the final five minutes as the Lions earned their first CACC win of the season.

Abdoulaye Kamagate had four shots on goal to lead the Griffins as the team finished with seven and were outshot 19-12 overall and 12-7 on goal. Luke Bodziak, Andres Gomez and Sebastian Carmona all had one shot on goal apiece for the Griffins.

Max Bond took the loss  in net for the griffins recording ten saves while falling to 2-2 on the season.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, October 4, 2025 when they host Virginia State University at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill.  Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
