Griffins Open 2025-26 Season at FDU - New Jersey Open

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team opened their 2025-26 season Friday night at the FDU New Jersey open at Bowler city in Hackensack, New Jersey.  Fairleigh Dickinson University is the host of the event.

The Griffins opened up the tournament with traditional format matches, going 0-4 on the afternoon. 

Holy Family University defeated the Griffins 817-652 in the opening match.  Victoria Forbes was the Griffins high bowler with a score of 156.  Lexi Horton followed with a score of 142.

The Griffins dropped their second match of the day, falling to Monmouth University 919-728.  Taylor Graham led the Griffins with a score of 193  while  Forbes filled eight of ten frames in the contest.

Dominican University defeated the Griffins in the third match in what would be their closest score of the day, 906-858.  Horton had a high game of 197 followed by Forbes at 190.  Cora Olsen followed with a score of 186.Horton and Forbes filled nine of ten frames respectively.

In the Griffins final match of the day, Adelphia handed the team an 891-731 loss with Forbes leading Chestnut Hill with a score of 187.  Olsen filled eight of ten frames.

The Griffins had a bye in the fifth round, rolling a score of 747 against no opponent.  Forbes had the high match of the day for Chestnut Hill in the final round, rolling a 214. She along weith Olsen filled nine of ten frames.

For the day, forbes finished 16th in the individual standings, with an average score of 183.20.  A total of 68 bowlers competed on the first day.

The women's bowling team returns to action on Saturday, October 18, 2025 with five baker format matches for Day two of the New Jersey Open.
