Collins Scores Twice as Griffins Shutout Lions

Abby Collins scored twice as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team won their third straight conference match, defeating Lincoln University 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Lions Stadium in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins improve to 5-6 overall and 5-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Lions drop to 0-10-1 overall and 0-7 in league play.

Collins scored her first goal in the 34th minute, taking a pass from Shaina Klos and sent it from the left side into the lower right hand corner of the net to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.  She added her second goal in the 69th minute and unassisted score that she shot into the upper right hand portion of the net to give the Griffins a 3-0 lead.

The Griffins got their first goal via a penalty kick as Chelsea Ritter converted at the 20:21 mark of the first half.   Rebecca Dalton tallied the Griffins final goal in the 87th minute with an assist from Bryce Westervelt.

Ellie Stratz earned her third shutout of the season, making one save on the afternoon.  She lowered her goals against average to 0.59 on the season.

Dalton led the team with seven shots, including four on goal.  Ritter and Collins had three shots on goal apiece.  Hayden Johnston had two shots on goal while Ava Mosteller and Klos had one apiece.

The Griffins outshot the Lions 20-1 (14-1 on frame).

The women's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 when they host Holy Family University for a key CACC match.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
