Having clinched a playoff berth in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament earlier in the week, the Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team went a step further and secured home field advantage for the quarterfinal round as they defeated Post University 4-1 at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill.
The team currently sits in  second place in the league standings with a 7-1 mark in conference play, while sporting a 7-6 overall mark The upcoming home playoff game  on November 8 will mark the first time Chestnut Hill has hosted a CACC women's soccer playoff game since the 2010 season.
Prior to the game the Griffins honored seven senior players who have been an integral part of the program during their time at Chestnut Hill.  The seniors also played a big roll in Saturday's contest, combining for 15 of the team's season high 21 shots on goal.
Virginia Perry scored two of the Griffins four goals on the afternoon. The senior defensive midfielder  contributed four shots on goal and nine total shots while scoring twice.  Both of Perry's goals came directly off corner kicks. Her first goal in the 26th minute tied the game at 1-1 just 2:27 after Post tallied the first goal of the game.
Perry  added her second goal of the game in the 56th minute.
Freshman Abby Collins added a penalty kick goal in the 35th minute to put the Griffins ahead for good 2-1. Senior Lauren Sullivan scored the final Chestnut Hill goal with Alyssa DeGeorge and Ava Mosteller getting the assists on the play.
Ellie Stratz picked up her sixth win of the season, playing the first half and allowing the eagles only goal. Haley Esposito was in the net the second half and made three saves on the afternoon.
Sullivan led the team with five shots on goal. Perry snd Rebecca Dalton had four shots on goal apiece while DeGeorge, Collins, Hayden Johnson and Bryce Westervelt added two shots on goal  apiece. Not reflected in the game statistics, the Griffins also got solid contributions on the field from seniors Stella McCallion, Kaitlyn Brace and Maddie Camillo.
For the game Griffins out shot the Eagles 42-5 (21-4 on goal) and had a season high 16 corner kicks.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 when they travel to face Wilmington University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
