The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team took to the road Wednesday evening, facing Georgian Court University in Lakewood New Jersey with the Lions coming away with a 3-1 victory.
Georgian Court took the first set 25-16 before the Griffins rebounded to tie the match at 1-1 with a 25-022 win in set number two. The Lions then proceeded to take the final two sets, 25-18 and 25-19 to win the match.
The Griffins fall to 4-18 overall and 1-9 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Lions improve to 7-16 overall and 4-7 in league play.
Lilian Bandel recorded her first career double-double leading the team with ten kills and 14 digs. Kate Hanley had eight kills and a trio of players finishes with seven: Nicole Dimiris, Sadie Bayko and Maya Hopson.  Sofia Rodriguez had 37 assists to lead all players.
Sarah Allen accounted for half of the Griffins four aces with two.
Allen along with Bandel had 14 digs while Rodriguez had 11 digs to record a double double with her team high in assists. Alex Crespin and Ayla Mirarchi chipped in seven digs apiece. Hopson and Dimiris had three blocks apiece. Bayko and Rodrguez added two each.
For the game, the Griffins had a 41-35 advantage in kills but that was offset by 38 attack errors leaving the team with an attack percentage of .018 (GCU-.089)Â The Lions held a 10-4 advantage in service aces, a 69-58 advantage in digs and a 16-6 margin in team blocks.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, November 1, 2025 when they host Dominican University at Sorgenti Arena. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
