The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team returned to action Tuesday night as they traveled to face Goldey-Beacom College at the Jones Center in Wilmington Delaware.
The Lightning came away with a three-set sweep of the Griffins, winning the first set 26-24 before taking the next two 25-15 and 25-17.
The Griffins fall to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Lightning improve to 9-8 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Kate Hanley led all players with 11 kills in the match while Nicole Dimiris and Micah McKenzie added six and five respectively. Sofia Rodriguez had 25 assists setting the Griffins offense while Sadie Bayko led Chestnut Hill with four service aces.
On the defensive side, Sarah Allen led the team with eight digs while Rodriguez and Katelyn Dougherty had six and five respectively. Ayla Mirachi finished the match with four digs. Dimiris led the team with four blocks.
The Lightning finished the match with 32 kills and efficient .304 attack percentage (32-11-69) while the Griffins had 26 and struggled with their attack game hitting .038 (26-23-80). Both teams had eight service aces while the Lightning held the advantage in digs 29-24.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 when they travel to face Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
