Griffins Honor Seniors as they Close out their 2025 Season

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team closed out their season Saturday afternoon and celebrated their seniors as they lost to one of the top teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, holy Family University in straight sets, 3-0 at Sorgenti Arena.

The Tigers swept the Griffins with scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-17 in the three sets.

Prior to the match, the Griffins celebrated three senior players who were playing in their final match at Chestnut Hill.  Seniors Kate Hanley, Nicole Dimiris and Sadie Bayko were recognized for their accomplishments this season and for their career, both on and off the volleyball court. The trio were presented gifts from the team and the athletics department.  Senior manager Cristy Silva was also recognized for all her support throughout the season.

Back to the game, Hanley and Maya Hopson led the team with five kills apiece with Hopson committing just one error in ten attack attempts (.400 hitting percentage).  Micah McKenzie added four kills.   Sofia Rodriguez led the team with 18 assists.

Bayko had three service aces to pace the Griffins squad.  Hopson and Alex Crespin had two apiece. 

Defensively, Crespin led the team with six digs.  Ayla Mirarchi and Bayko had three digs apiece.  McKenzie recorded two blocks with Bayko, Dimiris and Hopson notching one apiece.

The Griffins finished the year with a 5-22 overall record and a 2-13 mark in conference play.
