The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match on the road at Wilmington University, falling to the Wildcats 3-2 at the WU Athletic Complex in Newark, Delaware.
The Griffins fall to 5-19 overall and 2-10 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches. The Wildcats improve to 10-2 in league play and 17-11 overall.
Chestnut Hill opened the match by winning the first set 25-20 with the Wildcats tying the score at 1-1 with a 25-18 win in set two. The Griffins took a 2-1 lead with a 26-24 win in set three before the Wildcats rallied to take the final two sets, 25-20 and 15-13 to take the match.
Micah McKenzie led all players with a career-high 21 kills. Nicole Dimiris added 15 while Lilian Bandel chipped in ten. Sadie Bayko added nine kills on the night. Sofia Rodriguez recorded 53  assists to lead all players.Â
Bandel and Sarah Allen led Chestnut Hill with four aces apiece.Â
Allen also led the Griffins with 18 digs while Rodriguez added 15 to complete a double-double. Alex Crespin chipped in 12. McKenzie led the Griffins with three b locks. Dimiris, Bandel and Kate Hanley added two blocks apiece.
For the game the Griffins recorded 15 more kills (66-49) than the Wildcats but also had 33 attack errors to WU's 19. Wilmington had a 14-11 advantage in service aces and a 12-5 advantage in team blocks.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, November 8, 2025 when the host Felician University at Sorgenti Arena. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
