The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis Team had their first spring match of their season Thursday afternoon as they fell to the University of the District of Columbia 7-0 in Washington D.C.

The Griffins fall to 12-6 with the loss.

Chestnut Hill opened play by dropping both doubles contests as Romi Meirovich and Lillian Bandel lost 6-1 to Desiree Parn and Polina Zelentsova at #1 doubles while Claudia Rasilla and Anisha Thada Reddy lost at #2 doubles 6-3 to Claudia Bahamon Lopez and Celia Bastin, giving the Firebirds a 1-0 lead in the match.

Playing with just four players, the Griffins had to forfeit their #5 and #6 singles matches, putting the Firebirds ahead 3-0.   Bandel dropped her #1 singles match to Parn 6-1, 6-3 and Meirovich fell to Zelentsova 6-0, 6-3.  Rasilla fell to Bastin 6-1, 6-2 at #3 singles and Reddy lost to Bahamon-Lopez 6-1, 7-5 as the Firebirds completed the 7-0 sweep.
