The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team dropped their fifth straight match this spring against a Division II opponent Wednesday afternoon fall to nationally ranked Queens College 7-0 at the QC Indoor Tennis bubble in Flushing New York.
The Griffins fall to 3-9 overall. The Knights, ranked #48 in the latest ITA rankings, improve to 10-4.
Queens swept all three doubles contests to secure the doubles point and take a 1-0 led. Chestnut Hill's closest match was at #1 doubles where the team of Pablo Cervera and Ewan Brown lost 6-4 to Alexis Gibiard and Samuel Linck.
Moving onto to singles play, Menno Raeymaekers lost to London Mosquera 6-0, 6-4 at #6 singles and Filippo Relecom dropped his #2 singles match 6-2, 6-4 to Loup Alleno to give the Knights a 3-0 lead.
The Knights clinched the match with a win at #3 singles as QC's Adam Laur defeated Alessio Lefevre 6-2, 6-3. Queens completed their sweep of the singles contest with wins at #1, #4 and #5 singles. The #5 singles match went three sets as Arnaud Vangenechten lost to Jaime Foix Sotos, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
The men's tennis team is on the road for their next two matches taking on West Virginia Wesleyan University and Davis and Elkins College on Saturday and Sunday.
