The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis Team closed out their three-game series with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival Jefferson University Saturday afternoon, losing to the Rams 6-1 at the Legacy Tennis Courts in Philadelphia.
The Griffins fall to 4-13 overall while the Rams improve to 10-7.
Jefferson opened the match with a sweep of the three doubles contests to take an early 1-0 lead. Alessio Lefevre and Siddharth Malik lost to Filip Slavkovic and Ayan Mehra 6-1 at #3 doubles followed by Ewan Brown and Pablo Cervera falling to E. Soto Ballester and Anthony Moukarzel 6-4 at #1 singles. Jefferson completed the sweep as Arnaud Vangenechten and Menno Raeymaekers lost to Jules Thibault and Mateos Mélenchon, 7-6 (7-5).
Raeymaekers got the Griffins their only point at #6 singles, winning his match when Mehra retired in the second set, evening the score at 1-1.  The Rams went on to win the remaining five singles matches to complete the 6-1 win.
