Six members of the Chestnut Hill College Softball team have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball All-Academic Team in an announcement made by the conference office on Monday.
In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
Juniors Jazmine Ramirez and Maya Kemper were named to the CACC all-academic team for the second time. First time honorees included seniors Anastasia Watson and Amaris Guzman and sophomores Michelle Baker and Jenn Pokropinski. Â
The six Chestnut Hill athletes were among the 69 athletes named to the team, representing all 12 schools that participate in softball within the conference.
All six athletes have also earned CACC Academic Honor Roll accolades in each of the first three semesters of that the award has been offered (Fall 2023, spring and Fall 2024) with the Spring 2025 honors yet to be announced.
Kemper, a business administration and management major, has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in every semester at Chestnut Hill. She was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society in 2024.
Ramirez, a media and communications major was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma last month. Â Â She has also earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in every semester at Chestnut Hill.
Watson recently graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and Tri-Alpha, the National Honor society for first-generation college students. A multiple sport athlete, Watson was also named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Women's Track and field Team earlier this month. She has earned departmental honors for chemistry and has been named to the Chestnut Hill College Dean's List four times.
Guzman recently completed her second season as a member of the softball team after transferring into Chestnut Hill from Mount San Antonio College. A solid performer in the classroom, Guzman graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business administration and management and is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and Sigma Beta Delta, the business honor society. Guzman, like Watson, earned departmental honors for her respective major.
Baker and Pokropinski have earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll Accolades in each of their first four semesters at Chestnut Hill. Baker is an exercise science major while Pokropinski is a dual major in early education and special education.
Since joining the CACC for the 2008 season, 41 Chestnut Hill College Softball players have been named to CACC Softball All-Academic team a total of 74 times. Eleven of the 41, including Kemper and Ramirez  have earned All-Academic honors twice times during their career with an additional 11 players earning the honor three times.
