The Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team suffered a tough loss on the road Wednesday afternoon, losing to the College of Staten Island 1-0 at the Dolphins soccer Park in Staten Island, New York.
The Griffins drop to 0-3 with the loss. The Dolphins improve to 1-1
CSI scored their lone goal with just under a minute remaining in the first half on a high shot that went in over the head of Griffin goaltender Haley Esposito.
Chestnut Hill had opportunities throughout the game, recording 16 total shots and five shots on goal. CSI finished the game with just four shots and two shots on goal.
Lauren Sullivan led the griffins with six total shots (two on frame). Bryce Westervelt, Abigail Collins, and Rebecca Dalton had two shots apiece. Collins, Alyssa DeGeorge and Hayden Johnston recorded shots on goal.
Esposito took the loss playing the first half. Ellie Stratz came in the second half and had one save without allowing a goal.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, September 13, 2025, when they travel to play Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
