Box Score It was a sweep of sorts for the Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team as they defeated Arcadia University 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at Arcadia's Weiss Courts in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
The match was the first dual match for both teams. The "sweep" was that the Griffins won every match that they had a player on the court participating.   The Griffins fielded only five players in the match, thus giving the Knights an automatic point at #6 singles.
Starting with doubles, Chestnut Hill swept the two doubles matches they played, recording identical scores of 6-0 in each match.  Lilian Bandel and Veronika Lundgren won the #1 doubles match, defeating Jada Young and Nicole Scannapieco while Elena Arenas Guisasola and Milica Zagorac won at #2 doubles, defeating Jaelyn DaSilva and Jessie Friel. The number three doubles was not played due to CHC's shortage of players.
In singles play, Bandel defeated Scannapieco , 6-0, 6-0 at #4 singles to make the score 2-1. Zagorac followed, defeating Young, 6-0, 6-0 at #1 singles while Lundgren was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Friel at #3 singles. Â
Claudia Rasilla Romero earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kaylee Higgins at #5 singles and Arenas Guisasola earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over DaSilva at #2 singles to round out the competition.
