The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team dropped their final two matches at the IUP Crimson Hawk Classic on Saturday, falling to the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown, 3-0 and the University of Charleston, 3-1 at IUP's Kovalchick athletic Complex.
The Griffins' record falls to 2-6 overall with the two losses. UPJ improves to 7-3 while Charleston improves to 6-6.
Pitt-Johnstown swept the three sets from Chestnut Hill with scores of 25-16, 25-11 and 25-15. The Griffins won the first set against Charleston 25-15, before dropping the next three 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15.
Kass Kimmel led the Griffins with six kills in the UPJ match while Nicole Dimiris and Maya Hopson added five and four respectively. Sofia Rodriguez recorded 21 assists setting the Griffin offense. Sarah Allen led the team with three aces.
Defensively, Allen, Kimmel and Ayla Mirarchi led the team with five digs apiece. Hopson, Kimmel and Micah McKenzie had two blocks apiece.
Dimiris followed with seven kills against Charleston to lead the team. Sadie Bayko added five kills. Rodriguez again led the team with 20 assists. McKenzie led the team with three aces.
McKenzie also led the team with six blocks while Hopson added five. Kimmel and Allen led the team with eight digs apiece while Bayko added six.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, when they host Georgian Court University in their first home contest of the season. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
