The Chestnut Hill College Women's tennis team opened up their 2025-26 campaign at Bloomsburg University's Husky Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
All five of the Griffin competitors won at least one singles match with freshman Milica Zagorac finishing the tournament with a 2-1 singles mark.
Zagorac opened the weekend with a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) win over Marta Serra of Morgan State before falling to Alessia Kivi of Slippery Rock, 6-0, 6-0. The freshman player closed out her singles play with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) win over Lauren hall of Morgan State.
Lilian Bandel opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Bloomsburg's Sarah Buck before falling in the next round to Nadia Rodewald of Slippery Rock 6-4, 6-3.
Veronika Lundgren also won her opening match, defeating Daria Sikhanova  (Slippery Rock) 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (12-10), before dropping her next match to Julia Jeffrey of Morgan State 6-3, 6-3.
Claudia Rasilla Romero lost her opening match but recovered to defeat Macarena Arisio of Bloomsburg 7-6, 6-1.
Elena Arenas Guisasola dropped her first two matches but recovered to earn a 6-1, 0-6, 1-0 (10-6) win over Lia Sophie Steele of Bloomsburg in her final singles match of the tournament.
In doubles play, Arenas and Zagorac produced the only win for the Griffins defeating Anna Poranski and Marta Keminski of Slippery Rock 6-1.
The women's tennis team returns to action with a match at Arcadia University on Wednesday. September 10, 2025. First serve is at 2:00 p.m.
