The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team dropped a thrilling five set match on the road at Georgian Court University Wednesday night falling 3-2 to the Lions in Lakewood, New Jersey.
The Lions won the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-14 before the Griffins took the third set 25-2. In the fourth set, the Griffins held off four set points before rallying to pull out a 32-30 win to even the match at 2-2. Georgian Court pulled ahead early in the fifth set and cruised to a 15-10 win to take the match
The Griffins fall to 6-12 overall and 2-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. The Lions improve to 5-15 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Macayla Lindner led all players with 22 kills while Alex Crespin added a career-high 19. The junior outside hitter also recorded a season-high 20 digs on the night for her first double-double of the season. Lindner and Crespin had two aces apiece. Sofia Rodriguez led all players with 50 assists.
On the defensive end, Rachel Mace led the team with 35 digs. Sarah Allen added 15 and Rodriguez chipped in ten to record a double-double . Kayle Arozio had two blocks.
For the game, the Griffins produced 58 kills while the Lions had 63, Chestnut Hill had a slight 6-5 edge in aces while the Lions held a 102-98 advantage in digs and a 9-2 edge in team blocks.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 when they play Holy Family University in northeast Philadelphia. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m.
