Four players scored in double figures as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball team cruised to an 81-40 win over Wilmington University Wednesday night at Sorgenti arena, clinching a spot for the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.
The Griffins improve to 10-5 in CACC contests and 13-10 overall. The Wildcats fall to 1-23 overall and 0-16 in league play.
Sara Tamoun and Tamia Washington led the Griffins with 12 points apiece while Tikyra Miller and Tiayo Adelekan contributed 11 points each. Kourin Carew led all players with nine rebounds while Tamoun, Adelekan and Kaya Mobley chipped in six apiece.
Mobley filled the stat sheet by adding seven assists  and three steals to go along with eight points. Tamoun had similar numbers with six assists and four steals.
The Wildcats scored the first five points of the game before the Griffins exploded with 19 straight points to take a 19-5 lead. Miller started the scoring and Mobley added two three point baskets during the run. Anahita Jackson had five of the 19 points, and the Griffins also got layups from Tamoun and Adelekan. Miller closed out the run with a layup. Wilmington score a basket at the buzzer to make the score 19-7 after one quarter.
Miller's three-ball three minutes into the second quarter expanded the Griffins lead to 17, and Tamoun added a three-pointer with 2:38 left to push the lead to 20, 37-17 en route to a 39-20 lead at halftime.
The Griffins outscored the Wildcats 19-7 in the third quarter, scoring the first six points. Six different players scored in the period, with Sabria Mann scoring five and Carew adding four as the Griffins led by 31, 58-27 after three quarters.
Wilmington cut the lead to 26 with a 6-1 run to start the fourth quarter but the Griffins countered with an 11-1 run to lead 70-35 with 4:26 left. After a Wildcat three-ball, Washington scored nine of the Griffins' next 11 points (all on three-point baskets) to give the Griffins their biggest lead 81-38. One more Wildcat basket make the final score 81-40.
For the game, the Griffins shot 43.2% from the field (32-74) while holding the Wildcats to just a 29.4% shooting effort (15-51).  CHC connected on ten three-pointers while the Wildcats made just three.  The Griffins grabbed 51 rebounds while the Wildcats had 33, 18 off the offensive glass leading to a 15-2 advantage in second chance points. CHC also forced 28 turnovers, scoring 29 points off the Wildcat miscues.Â
The women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, February 14, 2026 when they host Caldwell University in their penultimate regular season home game. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
