The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team played their final regular season game Saturday afternoon, falling to Felician University 72-62 at Sorgenti Arena.
The Griffins head into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 12-8 conference record and a 15-13 overall mark. The team will be the #4 seed, hosting Jefferson University on Tuesday.
Prior to the start of the game, the athletics department and the women's basketball team honors their two senior players and their senior manager in a brief ceremony. Senior guards Sara Tamoun and Kaya Mobley were recognized along with senior manager Matthew Taylor. The three honorees were presented with gifts from the team and the department as their accomplishments were read off  for all to hear.
Back to the game, Tikyra Miller led the Griffins with 16 points and two steals. Tiayo Adelekan added 12 points and eight rebounds. Tamoun finished the game with ten points, seven rebounds and two assists. Anahita Jackson led the Griffins with four assists on the afternoon.
Tamoun's ten points pushed her over the 400-point plateau for the season, becoming  just the sixth player in program history to score 400 or more points in a single season. Already, the sixth player in program history to dish out 100 or more assists on the season, Tamoun also became the first player in program history to combine for 400+ points and 100+ assists in the same season.
The Golden Falcons used an 8-3 run in the final 2:45 of the first quarter to break an 11-11 tie to take a 19-14 lead on the Griffins heading into the second period. In the second quarter the Griffins opened play with as 9-2 run to take a 23-21 lead with 6:50 left.  Miller scored five of the points during the run with Adelekan and Ayrianna Sumpter contributing a basket apiece. Chestnut Hill still led by one 27-26 when the Golden Falcons closed out the quarter on a 6-1 run to lead 32-28 at halftime.
A 7-2 Felician run gave the visitors a nine point advantage 39-30 in the third quarter, but the Griffins would not fold and closed within one 45-44 with 2:45 left in the period. After a Felician bucket, Tamia Washington tied the game at 47-47 with her second three-pointer of the afternoon. Felician scored the next seven points before Kourin Carew launched a long shot just inside half court as the buzzer was sounding for a three-point basket to cut the deficit to 54-50 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Griffins would come no closer than five points in the final period as the Golden Falcons outscored the home squad 18-12 to earn the ten-point win.
Stephanie Formby led Felician with 34 points and 11 rebounds.
The women's basketball team will host a quarterfinal round playoff game for just the third time in program history. They will face #5 seed Jefferson University on Tuesday March 3, 2026. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. in Sorgenti Arena.
