The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team competed in their first match of the spring season on Tuesday, falling to Queen's college 6-1 at QC's Indoor Tennis Bubble in flushing, New York.
The Griffins fall to 0-3 while the Knights improve to 9-0.
Chestnut Hill's lone point came near the end of the match as Noah Cutting earned a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12-10) win over Lucas Foix Soto at #1 singles.  Foix Sotos is ranked #3 three in the fall East Region singles rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Cutting's win made the score 5-1 with one match remaining.
Cutting also won his doubles match, teaming with Pablo Cervera to defeat Foix Sotos and Said Akbarov 7-6 (7-2) at #1 doubles.
The Knights, however, captured the doubles point with wins at #2 and #3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Cervera lost at #2 singles 6-1, 6-4 to Tim Andersson and Alessio Lefevre lost to Samuel Linck 6-3, 6-1 at #3 singles to make the score 3-0. Queens clinched the match as Filippo Relecom dropped his #5 singles match to Andres Urquiola 6-1, 6-3.Â
Enzo Puppi and Augustin Daubannay lost at #4 and #6 singles respectively.
The men's tennis team returns to action with a match against St. Joseph's University on Saturday, March 21, 2026. First serve is at 10:00 a.m.
