The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team took on St. Joseph's University Saturday morning falling to the Hawks 4-2 at the SJU Tennis Courts In Philadelphia.
The Griffins fall to 0-4 on the season. The Hawks improve to 7-8.
Chestnut Hill's only two points came in singles play at #1 and #2 singles as the Hawks started the match with a sweep of the doubles contests to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.
The Hawks made it 2-0 as Gautreau Barnes defeated Filippo Relecom, 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles.   Noah Cutting then got the Griffins on the board with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Sehaj Singh Pawar at #1 singles before the Hawks won at #4 singles to take a 3-1 lead as Augustin Daubannay fell to Hector Fullone 6-1, 6-2.
Enzo Puppi followed with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 win over Davi Carlos at #2 singles to keep the Griffins hopes alive, trailing 3-2 in the match. Siddharth Malik then dropped his #6 singles match to Mark Rubin 6-1, 6-0  giving the Hawks the win 4-2.
The men's tennis team returns to action with a match against West Virginia State University on Friday, March 27, 2026. The match will be played at Bloomsburg University. First serve is at 1:00 p.m.
