Marauders Take Two from Griffins

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Softball team took to the road Wednesday afternoon for a scheduled makeup doubleheader at Millersville University.  The Marauders took the first game 12-4 and went on to sweep the Griffins with an 8-0 win in game two.

The Griffins fall to 4-8 on the season.  Millersville improves to 10-6.

Izabella Rodriguez hit a three-run home run in the opener to provide much of the offense for Chestnut Hill in the game.  Jenn Pokropinski delivered an RBI single just before Rodriguez's home run in the third inning.

Belle Tetreault took the loss in the opener, pitching 3.1 innings and giving up seven runs (five earned) on five hits.

Rodriguez's home run gave the Griffins a 4-3 lead at the time.  Millersville, however, scored seven runs in the fourth inning and added two more in the fifth to end the game via the eight-run rule.  

In game two, the Marauders scored seven runs in the final two innings to complete an 8-0 shutout.

The Griffins were limited to just two hits, singles by Brynn Pollard and Kayla Childress.  Rebecca Cessna took the loss, tossing four innings and giving up all eight runs on nine hits while striking out five.

The softball team returns to action on Saturday, March 21, 2026 with a doubleheader at Lincoln University.  First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
