The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision on Friday to West Virginia State University. The match was played at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins fall to 0-5 with the loss.
Chestnut Hill started the match by capturing the doubles point. The Yellow Jackets won at #3 doubles while the Griffins took home the wins at #1 and #2 doubles. Noah Cutting and Alessio Lefevre defeated Forkane Lebdi and Wacil El Hanafi 6-2 at #1 doubles while Ewan Brown and Augustin Daubannay were 6-2 victors over Facun Campana Urcia and Alejan Polo Alferez at #2 doubles.
Cutting gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lebdi but the Yellow jackets captured the #4 singles matches to secure the overall win. Patchara Suklian defeated Filippo Relecom at #3 singles, 6-3, 6-4 while Urcia earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Siddharth Malik at #6 singles, tying the overall score at 2-2.
El Hanafi defeated Brown, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles and Heinrich Lindeque earned a three-set win over Daubannay, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 to complete the 4-2 win for the Yellow Jackets.
The men's tennis team travels to Maryland on Sunday, March 29, 2026 to take on Division I Loyola University of Maryland. First serve is at 12 noon.
