The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team earned their first win of the 2025-26 season on Sunday, defeating Loyola University (Maryland), 6-1 in Baltimore.
The Griffins improve to 1-5 on the season.
The match started out with the Griffins losing all three doubles matches, giving Loyola a 1-0 lead in the contest. Noah Cutting and Alessio Lefevre lost 6-2 to Louis Moldenhauer and Peter Hagen at #1 doubles while Ewan Brown and Augustin Daubannay lost 6-2 to Blake Edwards and Harry Zeiders at #2 doubles. Filippo Relecom and Siddharth Malik dropped their #3 doubles match 6-2 to Cyrus Shivkumar and Dylan Kozial.
Cutting got the Griffins on the board with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Edwards at #1 singles while Lefevre defeated Alejando Rotundo 6-3, 6-2 to put the Griffins ahead 2-1. Malik dispatched Shivkumar 6-2, 6-4 at #6 singles adding to the lead and putting the Griffins one win away from clinching the match.
Relecom clinched the match with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Ian Perl at #3 singles followed by Brown defeating Dylan Coonerly, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) at #5 singles. Daubannay completed the singles sweep with a (6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 7-5 win over Trevor Girandola at #4 singles.
The men's tennis team returns to action on Monday, March 30, 2026 when they host Jefferson University at the CHC Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
