The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team competed in their first spring match of the 2025-26 season on Friday, falling to West Virigina State University in a match played on the campus of Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins fall to 5-9 with the loss.

Chestnut Hill opened the match with the doubles competition, with the Yellow Jackets needing only to win one of the two matches to capture the doubles point, since the Griffins did not field a #3 doubles team.   The #1 doubles team of Veronika Lundgren and Milica Zagorac fell to Maria Mer Kaltakian and Menendez Thomasson 6-1 to give WVSU a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Yellow Jackets made it 2-0 as Chestnut Hill forfeited the #6 singles due to having only five players competing.   WVSU went on to capture the #1 and #2 singles matches to clinch the win with Elena Arenas Guisasola falling to  Mer Kaltakian 6-0, 6-4 at #1 singles and Zagorac falling to Menendez Thomasson 6-2, 6-3 at #2 singles.

The women's tennis team continues the spring portion of their season on April 4, 2026 with a match against the University of the District of Columbia.  First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
