The Chestnut Hill College Men's tennis team, playing in their third match in four days, dropped a 5-2 decision to area rival Jefferson University Monday afternoon at the CHC Tennis Courts
The match was a non-conference match.  Jefferson and Chestnut Hill now play in the Pennsylvania State athletic Conference. The Griffins begin conference play next week.
Chestnut Hill falls to 1-6 with the loss. Jefferson improves to 5-6.
The Rams took an early 1-0 lead with a sweep of the three doubles contests. Augustin Daubannay and Ewan Brown lost to Jules Thibault and Antonio Mateos Melanchon 6-2 at #3 doubles. Enzo Puppi and Filippo Relecom dropped their match at #2 doubles, 6-2 to Nicholas Trebuchet and Johary Rabetrano., clinching the doubles point for the Rams. Noah Cutting and Alessio Lefevre lost at #1 doubles to Matt Cizmarik and Filip Slakovic , 6-4.
Jefferson won matches at #2, #3,  and #5 singles to take a 4-0  lead and clinch the overall match win. They added their fifth point with a win at #6 singles. Daubannay got the Griffins on the board with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Melanchon at #4 singles and Cutting rounded out the scoring with a thrilling 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (13-11) win over Trebuchet at #1 singles.
The men's Tennis team is back in action on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 when they host West Chester University at the CHC Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
