The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team concluded their four-game swing in North Carolina Saturday morning, falling to Clarion University 15-2.
The Griffins record drops to 3-5 with the loss.
Kenyon Motley and Matthew Sharkey had two hits apiece as part of the Griffins seven hits in the game. Motley also had two stolen bases.
Luke Schweiker took the loss, giving up seven runs on four hits.
Clarion scored eight runs in the first inning to take the early lead. Motley singled and stole second to start the Griffins off in the first inning. After advancing to third on an error, Wyatt Spinks lifted a fly ball to center field as Motley scored on the sacrifice fly to make the score 8-1.
The Golden Eagles added two more runs in the second inning and plated five in the fifth to take a 15-1 lead.
Chestnut Hill scored their final run in their final at-bat in the seventh inning as Bobby Sabatino drew a one-out walk and advanced to second on an infield error. Anthony Letizia followed with a walk to load the bases. Dylan Broderick then reached on an infield error as Sabatino scored the unearned run to make the final score 15-2.
The Griffins baseball team returns to action on Wednesdaty, March 11, 2026 as they open conference play with a doubleheader at Wilmington University. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
