Griffins Season comes to an End in CACC Semi Finals

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball team's season came to an end Saturday evening as Holy Family University used a strong second half to defeat the Griffins 67-59 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tournament semi-finals and advance to the tournament championship game on Sunday.

The Griffins finish their season at 16-14.

Tikyra Miller led the Griffins with 20 points and three assists.  Tiayo Adelekan recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds while Sara Tamoun finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Chestnut Hill came out on fire, scoring the first 11 points of the game and took a 17-9 lead after the first quarter. 

The Tigers battled back in the second quarter after the Griffins opened up a 24-10 advantage, producing a 15-1 run to tie the game at 25-25.  Tamoun's three-point basket with two minutes left broke the tie and the Griffins took a three-point lead into the locker room, 30-27, at halftime.

Through the first half of the third quarter, the Griffins' lead oscillated between one and four points before HFU's Taylor Hinkle (29 points, 16 rebounds) tied the game with as layup at 39-39 with 4:28 left.  The Tigers took their first lead some 90 seconds later on an Amy Ngo three-point basket.  Miller tied the score with a three-ball of her own and both teams exchanged baskets as they headed into the final quarter deadlocked at 44-44.

With the score still deadlocked at 46-46, the Tigers exploded with a 13-4 run to 59-50 with just 2:54 left.  The Griffins would get no closer than seven the rest of the way as the Tigers continued to dominate the rest of the league and extended their win streak to 19 games.

The loss concludes the 2025-26 season for the Griffins.
