Broderick's double in the second inning contributed to the two runs the team scored as they took a 2-1 lead. Angus Moore singled to score Shiffler and Motley followed by hitting into a fielder's choice to score Broderick.
Caldwell tied the game in the top half of the fifth inning before the Griffins exploded for four runs in the bottom half to take a 6-2 lead.  Motley led off with a triple to right center field and scored on Spinks' single. Spinks then stole second and third and then scored on a wild pitch. Aiden Myers walked before Sharkey delivered a two-run home run to right center field.
Four more runs scored by the Griffins in the bottom of the sixth gave the hosts a 10-2 lead. Spinks started things off with a two-out double and came around to score on Michael Pascoe's single. Pascoe then scored on Myers single before Sharkey and Shiffler delivered back-to-back doubles to plate the remaining two runs in the inning.
Motley's RBI double made the score 11-2 heading into the eighth inning. Shiffler and Broderick started the bottom of the eighth with singles bringing up Michael Melosky. Melosky laid down a bunt in an attempt to move both runners into scoring position, but the Caldwell catcher threw the ball away in an attempt to get Melosky out, allowing Shiffler to score CHC's 12th run, invoking the 10-run rule.
