Griffins Cruise to Win over Golden Falcons

Ten different players scored as the Chestnut Hill College men's lacrosse team got back on the winning track with a 17-5 win over Felician University Saturday afternoon in Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Griffins improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Golden Falcons fall to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in league play.

 Jake Ballerini tallied three goals and assisted on six others for a nine-point game.  Preston Page also scored three times and had two assists for five points. Aidan Walsh had two goals and two assists while Matthew Miller and Brady DeRome had two goals apiece.

Carter Getz led the team with ten ground balls while Aidan Owens and Thomas Gallagher had six and five ground balls respectively.  Silas Charles had two caused turnovers.  Adam Daley earned the win, making three saves in 38 minutes of action.  Cameron McAndrew also had three saves in 22 minutes of action in goal.

Miller had two of the Griffins' five first quarter goals with Jonathan Bartolomei, DeRome and Gallagher tallying one apiece as Chestnut Hill took a 5-0 lead.

The Griffins scored six goals in the second quarter with Ballerini having a hand in all six, scoring twice and assisting on the other four.  Page, Walsh and Charles Cox also scored while DeRome added his second goal of the game with 13 seconds left as the Griffins took an 11-0 lead at halftime.

Ballerini opened the third quarter scoring with a man-up goal at the 10:32 mark.  Page scored twice in the period  and Anthony Arch scored with 41 seconds left as the Griffins took a 1 15-1 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Golden Falcons scored the first two goals of the final quarter to cut the Griffins lead to 15-3.  James Quigley and  Walsh tallied back-to-back goals to put the Griffins back up by 14, 17-3.  Walsh's goal was a man-up score.  Felician scored twice more to round out the scoring.

The men's lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday, April 11, 2026 when they host Caldwell University at victory Field.  Start time scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
