The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team's 2026 season came to an end on Saturday as they dropped the decisive game of their three game first round playoff series to Jefferson University 8-2 at Jefferson's Alumni Field.
Noah Tincher took the loss in relief for the Griffins, allowing four runs on five hits in 1.2 innings of work.  Ryan McNichol had two of the Griffins' five hits and an RBI while Wyatt Spinks drove in CHC's other run of the afternoon.
The Griffins had just one hit through the first four innings, a one-out single from Michael Melosky before Jefferson took the early 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom half of the fourth inning.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Dylsn Broderick singled and Melosky walked. McNichol then hit a first pitch single to center field scoring Broderick with the tying run.
The score remaining tied at 1-1 until the seventh inning when the Griffins produced their second run. Broderick and Melosky walked with one out and McNichol loaded the bases with a single. Spinks then drew a walk to score Broderrick and give Chestnut Hill a 2-1 lead.
Jefferson scored four times in the seventh inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Julio Frometa Gomez to take a 5-2 lead. Andrew Holub's three run home run in the eighth for Jefferson made the score 8-2
Kenyon Motley singled in the ninth and made it as far as second base before the Rams shut the door on the Griffins' season.
The Chestnut Hill baseball team concludes their season with a 23-22 record.
