The Chestnut Hill College Men's Golf finished Sunday's final round at the BU Husky Invitational with a score of 301, giving the Griffins a two-round total of 594 and a share of first place at the event.
The Griffins 594 score for the two rounds breaks the school record set last week for lowest 36-hole team total. Chestnut hill finished in a first-place tie with Millersville University who came back from 11 strokes down after the first with an round of 290 (two-over par). The two teams finished six strokes ahead of third place University of Scranton (600).
Hugo Almeida finished the tournament with a round of 74, giving him a total score of 146, one stroke off the winners and tied for third place. Highlighting his round was an eagle of the par-four 18th hole. He also added a birdie on 11 and ten pars.
Freshman Andrew Brendlinger finished with an identical round two score of 74 and finished one stroke behind Almeida at 147, placing fifth overall. He had three birdies and 11 pars on the afternoon.
One stroke behind Brendlinger was Rogelio Gerena, finishing with a score of 148 after shooting 76 in the final round, tying for sixth place overall. Â Gerena had two birdies and 11 pars on the afternoon.
Kiefer Sharman was the Griffins' fourth scorer for the second round with a score of 77, giving him a total of 159, finishing tied for 23rd place. Austin Pierce had a round of 82 on Sunday and finished with a two-round total of 158 in 21st place (tied).  Trevor Dendler rounded out the Griffin golfers with a two-round score of 180.
The golf team returns to action on Monday, September 21, 2026 when they begin competition at the WCU Battlefield classic, hosted by West Chester University at the Links at Gettysburg.
