The Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision at the University of Bridgeport Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins fall to 1-3-2 overall and 1-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Purple Knights improve to 2-0 in league play and 3-1-3 overall
After a scoreless first half, the two teams continued battling until UB's Jana Mueller managed to get a shot past Griffin goalkeeper Haley Esposito in the 70th minute for the only score of the game.
Esposito took the loss and fell to 1-2 on the season. She finished the game with three saves.
Lorenza D'Andrea produced four of the Griffins seven total shots and was one of three Chestnut Hill players to record a shot on goal. Alyssa Browning and Kylie Weist were the other two.
The Purple Knights outshot the Griffins 12-7 (4-3 on net) while the Griffins had the only two corner kicks of the contest.
The women's soccer returns to action on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 when the host Lincoln university at victory Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
