Men's Soccer Team Settles for Tie with Raiders on Late Goal from Opponent

A late goal by Shippensburg University forged a 1-1 tie with the Chestnut Hill College Men's soccer team Saturday afternoon at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill.

The Griffins record is now 1-2-1 while The Raiders are now 0-0-2.

Chestnut Hill goalkeeper Max Bond kept his team in the game making 11 saves in goal, allowing just the one Raider goal in the 74th minute.

The Griffins got on the board first as Mohamed Bility made a near perfect cross pass to Emmanuel Sampson who put a shot past SU goalkeeper Ryan Krumenacker at the 22:41 mark for a 1-0 lead.

The Raiders put the pressure on the Griffin defense in the second half recording four shots on goal and a corner kick in the first 12 minutes.  The Raiders added two more corners kicks over the next 12 minutes but neither team got a shot off until the Raiders Julius Dogan tied the game at the 73:09 mark.

Chestnut Hill added three shots on goal in the final tern minutes but was unable to break the deadlock.

For the game, Shippensburg outshot the Griffins 17-11 (12-6 on net) and had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 when they host Pace University at Victory Field.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
