The Chestnut Hill College women's Soccer team dropped a regional contest Friday evening to Southern Connecticut State University, losing 3-0 to the Owls at victory field in Lafayette Hill.
The Griffins fall to 0-2-2 on the season while the Owls improve to 2-0-1
The Owls scored just three minutes into the game  and added a second goal at the 28:30 mark to lead 2-0 at halftime. SCSU scored their final goal in the 68th minute.
The Griffins had opportunities, mustering 14 total shots and seven shots on goal. Six different Griffins recorded a shot on goal with Kendall Gayton notching two of them. Abby Collins finished the game with four total shots.
CHC goalkeeper Ellie Stratz took the loss, her first of the season. The senior 'keeper had five saves while allowing all three goals.
For the game, the Griffins outshot the Owls 14-12 with Owls recording eight shots on goal to CHC's seven. The Griffins also had seven corner kicks to SCSU's six.
The women's soccer team returns to action on September 16, 2026, opening conference play against Dominican University at Victory Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
