Biography
FRESHMAN (2010) - Carfagna made 11 starts on defense for the Griffins while playing in 12 contests total. He finished second on the team in caused turnovers (21) while also collecting 29 ground balls.
SOPHOMORE (2011) - Carfagna started all fourteen games on defense for the Griffins and with great two-way play, he ranked second on the team in caused turnovers (20) and fourth in ground balls (32), while also recording seven points with two goals and five assists. His first collegiate goal came in the Griffins 13-5 win over Immaculata University on April 13.
JUNIOR (2012) – Carfagna served as the Griffins premier defender throughout the season, consistently marking the opponents’ top offensive threats. Starting 13 of 14 contests, he recorded six points (two goals and four assists) while leading the team in ground balls (56), and caused turnovers (27). He was also 5-of-9 (.556) in the face-off circle. Carfagna grabbed a season, and career-high, nine groundballs while also causing four turnovers and recording two points (a goal and an assists) in the Griffins 22-7 win over American International College (AIC) on March 10. He was a member of the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Fall 2011 Academic Honor Roll and he was selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) at annual Chestnut Hill College Athletic Awards Reception.
SENIOR (2013) – An All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Honorable Mention and a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American, Carfagna started all 12 of the contests in which he appeared while totaling three assists (three points), a team-high 42 ground balls, and a team-high 18 caused turnovers. He was 18-of-48 (.375) in the faceoff circle.
