Biography

FRESHMAN (2013) – Campion made himself the Griffins starting first baseman (39 games played - 31 games started) by season’s end, carrying a .254 (34-for-134) batting average while scoring 16 runs and knocking in 11 (11 runs-batted-in, RBI). He additionally recorded nine doubles, 13 walks, and three stolen bases (3-for-5, .600).

SOPHOMORE (2014) – Campion started at first base in 34 of the 35 games in which he appeared (35GP-34GS). He totaled 17 runs and 15 RBI on a .220 (27-for-123) batting average, a .285 slugging percentage (SLG%), and a .304 on-base percentage (OBP). Campion recorded six doubles, a triple, 15 walks, and 11 stolen bases (11-of-13, .846), primarily batting cleanup in the Griffin lineup. He earned academic recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring 2014 All-Academic Team and both the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls.

JUNIOR (2015) - Campion (40gp-39gs) hit .313 (42-for-134) with seven doubles, three triples, and two home runs, leading to a .455 slugging percentage. He recorded 25 RBI and manufactured 30 runs and 22 (22-of-30, .733) stolen bases on a .405 on-base percentage (19 walks). Campion joined Michael McLaughlin ‘15 and Dominic Raia III ‘15 on the CACC All-Tournament Team.

SENIOR (2016) – Campion earned All-CACC Second Team honors and the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award on the strength of a .279 (46-for-165) batting average, a .436 slugging percentage, and a .366 on-base percentage. In his first season as a team captain, he started all 45 games (45gp-45gs) in which he appeared – 39 of them at first base. Campion recorded 30 runs and knocked in 36 thanks to 34 singles, four doubles, two triples, and a home run. He also drew 23 walks and struck out 33 times in addition to recording 16 stolen bases (16-of-23, .696). Campion was a two-time CACC Weekly Honor Roll mention, garnering recognition on March 21 and April 11.
