Biography
FRESHMAN (2012-2013) – Establishing himself as a jack-of-all-trades, Hightower captained the Griffin defense with 30 steals (1.11/game), 26 blocks (0.96/game), and 72 defensive rebounds (2.7/game) while also providing 3.1 points-per-game (84 points), 22 assists (0.81/game), and 41 offensive rebounds (1.5/game) to the offense. While starting in 19 of 27 contests, Hightower’s best freshman performance came in a 105-99 win at Goldey-Beacom College on January 15; 12 points, ten rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. He was recognized as the CACC Rookie of the Week on January 21.
SOPHOMORE (2013-2014) – The lynchpin of the Griffin defense, Hightower took on captain duties while averaging 4.2 PPG and 3.4 RPG in addition totaling 21 assists, 15 blocks, and 28 steals over 27 contests (27gp-25gs).
JUNIOR (2014-2015) – Hightower once again served as the Griffins' defensive specialist, leading the team in rebounding (5.6 RPG) and blocked shots (39, T-4th CACC) while joining Seamus Radtke ’15 and Filip Sekulic ’15 as co-captains. Hightower, who made two appearances on the CACC Weekly Report (11/24/14 & 2/23/15), added 4.0 PPG, 25 assists, and 23 steals to his final line. His first CACC weekly recognition came on the Honor Roll while his second was as the CACC Defensive Player of the Week, thanks four blocks and three steals in conference wins at Georgian Court University (W, 81-64 on 2/17/15) and versus Felician College (W, 82-66 on 2/21/15). He started in 18 of 25 contests and averaged 23.9 minutes per game in the process. Hightower’s top scoring performance was a ten point effort in an 86-81 loss at Dominican College. He grabbed double-digit rebounds in four contests, including a career-high 14 boards in narrow 65-63 loss versus Philadelphia University on February 10.
SENIOR (2015-2016) – Hightower wrapped up his career at Chestnut Hill College as one of the best defenders in program history. He ranks in the top-five in eight categories: rebounds (2nd, 577), offensive rebounds (2nd, 225), blocked shots (2nd, 114), games started (2nd, 90), blocked shot average (3rd, 1.1), games played (4th, 107), defensive rebounds (5th, 352), and steals (5th, 128). Named the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), Hightower started all 28 games for the Griffins (28gp-28gs), playing 851 minutes (30.4 MPG). He averaged 6.1 points, a team-best 8.3 rebounds, 2.25 assists, 1.67 steals, and 1.21 blocks per game. Hightower shot .534 (63-of-118) from the field, the third best mark on the team. He was a two-time mention on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll (11/16, 3/1) and two-time CACC Defensive Player of the Week (12/21, 2/15), before garnering the Chestnut Hill College Athletic Director’s Award at the annual Athletic Awards Reception.
