Chestnut Hill College Athletics

FRESHMAN (2014) – Newman appeared in seven games (7GP) and recorded four plate appearances with his first collegiate a hit (1-for-3, .333) coming against Lincoln University on April 16. He also logged a walk, two runs scored, and a stolen base (1SB-1ATT). He was a member of both the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls.

SOPHOMORE (2015) – Newman (15gp-0gs) appeared as a reserve in 15 contests, offering a .286 (2-for-7) batting average, a .429 slugging percentage, and a .444 on-base percentage with a double and a walk. He scored three runs and knocked in one while stealing a base (1-for-2, .500).

JUNIOR (2016) – Newman appeared in six games (6gp-0gs), pinch hitting twice and pinch running twice while serving an outfield replacement four times. He batted .250 (1-for-4) and was successful on his only base stealing attempt (1-of-1, 1.000).

SENIOR (2017) – Newman (19gp-2gs) batted .286 (4-for-14) with a pair of doubles earning him a .429 slugging percentage. He drew three walks and stole one base (1-for-2). Academically, Newman earned recognition on both the fall 2016 and spring 2017, Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls, as well as, the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team.
