Mark Woltemate

Mark Woltemate '14

Assistant Coach Mark Woltemate joined his alma mater’s staff in 2014 after a four-year playing career for the Griffins (2011-2014). The program’s all-time leader in stolen base percentage (22-of-23, .957), Woltemate won the 2014 Coach’s Award after batting .289 (35-for-121) with a team-high 25 runs scored to go along with 18 runs-batted-in (RBI) and 18 stolen bases as a 33-game starter at second base.

Woltemate played sparingly as a reserve infielder during his first three seasons (2011-2013), but saw his role expand greatly as a senior (2014). He took over a starting spot in the Griffin infield and served as team captain, providing consistent production at second base and earning a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Honor Roll mention on April 14. His .289 average ranked third on the team, while his 18 swipes were tied for the team lead and tied for fourth in the CACC.

Always an intelligent, effort-driven player, Woltemate ranks ninth in program history in assists (87), 12th in stolen bases (22), tied for 13th in sacrifice hits (7), tied for 18th in runs scored (33), and tied for 19th in games played (74), walks (23), and putouts (88).

A communications major, Woltemate graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Chestnut Hill College in 2014.
