Neil Herman

Neil Herman joined the Chestnut Hill College baseball program in the summer of 2019 as an assistant coach. With more than 11 years of coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels, Herman will work with the Griffins pitching staff.

Herman spent four seasons as the head coach of Phoenixville High School (2016-19), making the PIAA District playoffs each year and recording the best winning percentage in school history during the 2018 slate. Since the 2019 season, he has also served as an assistant coach with the Quakertown Blazers of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.

From 2013-2015, Herman worked with a pair of Pennsylvania high school teams, serving as head coach for a season of the 2015 PIAA District runner-up Sun Valley High School and as an assistant coach for two seasons with the 2013 PIAA District champion Coatesville High School. At the collegiate ranks, he was an assistant coach for West Chester University (2010-11), helping the Golden Rams to the NCAA regional finals, and an assistant coach for Delaware County Community College (2008-09).

Herman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration from Lock Haven University, where he played baseball and football. He received his master's degree in positive coaching from the University of Missouri. He is a United States military veteran and served as a player/coach for the U.S. Military All Stars in 2012. Herman is currently the Administrative Coordinator for the Master's Program in Clinical &Counseling Psychology at Chestnut Hill.   He resides in Spring City, Pennsylvania  with his son Nolan.
