Chestnut Hill College Athletics

FRESHMAN (2016) – Small appeared in seven games (7gp-0gs), six times as a pinch hitter. He batted .250 (2-for-8), with a .375 slugging percentage, and a .364 on-base percentage thanks to a double and two walks. Small knocked in three runs.

SOPHOMORE (2017) – Small (44gp-42gs) enjoyed a breakout sophomore season, primarily serving as the Griffins’ designated hitter. He carried a .256 (31-for-121) batting average, a .372 on-base performance, and a .322 slugging percentage that came with six doubles and one triple, and produced 20 runs and 15 runs-batted-in (RBI). Small drew 12 walks, was hit by a pitch a team-high 11 times, and stole 18 bases (18-for-23). Academically, he was recognized on both the fall 2016 and spring 2017, Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls, as well as, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball All-Academic Team.

JUNIOR (2018) – Small was an integral member of the Griffins lineup making 35 starts (37gp-35gs) out of his 37 game appearances. In those matchups he logged a .228 (21-for-92) batting average, a .375 slugging percentage, and a .330 on-base percentage. He scored 11 runs and 14 runs-batted-in (RBI). Small performed well on and off the court, reaching academic success by earning recognition on the fall and spring (2017-2018), Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls, the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball All-Academic Team, and from the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA).
