Chestnut Hill College Athletics

SOPHOMORE (2016) – Kress transferred from St. Joseph's University to provide depth to the Griffins’ starting rotation. He made seven starts in 13 appearances (13app-7gs). After garnering four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Honor Roll mentions (March 7, April 4, April 25, May 9), he finished the season with a 3.44 earned run average (ERA) and a 4-3 record. Kress allowed 21 earned runs on 49 hits and 15 walks. He struck out 54 in 55.0 innings of work.

RED SHIRT - JUNIOR (2017) – In the six (6gp-6gs) the junior appeared in, Kress was the CACC Pitcher of the Week on the March 6 Weekly Report after picking up his first win of the season with nine strikeouts in six scoreless innings of two-hit baseball versus Wilkes University (W, 10-3 on March 5) and repeated his award on April 11 after holding the Wildcats to two runs on eight hits and one walk, while striking out three to earn himself. Kress allowed 11 earned runs on 40 hits and nine walks. He struck out 24 over 37.2 innings of work and held opponents to a 2.63 (28-for-35) batting average. Academically, the junior earned academic awards for the fall and spring Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll (2016-2017) and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic award.

JUNIOR (2018) – Kress was the Griffins' top starting pitcher, reporting a 6-4 record, three complete games, and a 4.40 ERA in 10 starts (11app-10gs). He allowed 29 earned runs on 67 hits and 14 walks, while striking out 38 in 59.1 innings pitched.  He earned recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Weekly Report on March 5, for his performance in a weekend series at Florida Memorial University. Kress (1-0) helped the Griffins split the Saturday evening doubleheader with six strikeouts in a complete game victory.
