Chestnut Hill College Athletics

FRESHMAN (2015) – Owens (19gp-7gs) served as a backup first baseman, appearing in 19 games and starting seven. He offered a .235 (8-for-34) batting average with a double and two triples earing him a .382 slugging percentage. With eight walks he posted a .386 on-base percentage while scoring six times and knocking in five runs. He also stole five bases (5-of-5, 1.000) and earned recognition on the Chestnut Hill College Spring 2015 Athletics Academic Honor Roll.

SOPHOMORE (2016) – Owens made 36 starts in 45 games (45gp-36gs), primarily serving as the Griffins designated hitter. His bat kept him in the lineup as the eventual Chestnut Hill College baseball Coach’s Award winner offered a .285 (37-for-130) batting average, a .415 slugging percentage, and a .404 on-base percentage. Owens scored 25 runs and knocked in 21 while drawing 18 walks and striking out 28 times. He also stole four bases (4-of-6, .667) and led the team in beanballs with 10.

JUNIOR (2017) – Owens (46gp-46gs) offered a .261(40-for-153) batting average, a .363 on-base percentage, and a .346 slugging percentage that included 11 doubles and one triple. He scored 21 times, recorded 21 runs-batted-in (RBI), drew 21 walks, and stole seven bases (7-for-11). Academically, Owens was a member of both the fall 2016 and spring 2017 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls, as well as, the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team.

SENIOR (2018) – Owens was selected as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Baseball First Team performer during the course of an outstanding senior season that concluded with .340 (51-for-150) batting average, a .443 on-base percentage, and a .547 slugging percentage. He drew 24 walks and totaled 15 extra base hits - including a program all-time, single-season high of seven home runs – to finish the year with 34 runs and 36 RBI. Owens was one of two Griffins to start all 44 contests (44gp-44gs) and he finished the season fifth in the CACC for stolen bases (22-of-24, .916). All-time, Owens ranks among the program's top-10 in 24 statistical categories, including home runs (T2^nd, 9), hit-by-pitch (T2^nd, 21), base-on-balls (3^rd, 71), sacrifice flies (T3^rd, 8), on-base percentage (4^th, .402), doubles (T4^th, 27), RBI (5^th, 83), triples (T5^th, 6), slugging (7^th, .433), batting average (8^th, .291), total bases (8^th, 202), runs (9^th, 86), and games played (154).  Academically, Owens was recognized on the fall 2016, Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll, the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball All-Academic Team, and from the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA).
