Biography
FRESHMAN (2012) – McLaughlin made 37 starts in right field and appeared in 39 contests overall in his freshman campaign. He carried a .259 (36-for-139) batting average with five doubles, five walks, 12 runs-batted-in (RBI), and 15 stolen bases (15-of-18, 83.3%). His best offensive performance came in an 8-7, 13-inning, victory over Post University on March 7, when he provided the game-winning RBI in a 4-for-7 hitting effort.
SOPHOMORE (2013) – Finding his place at the top of the lineup, McLaughlin led the Griffins in runs (31) while carrying a .254 (45-for-177) batting average and stealing 19 bases (19-for-22, .864). He also led the Griffins in extra-base hits, recording a team-high ten doubles and a triple to help plate 19 runs (19 RBI). He started 46 games as the Griffins right fielder.
JUNIOR (2014) – McLaughlin swiped 18 bags on 22 attempts (18-of-22, .818) while continuing to improve his contribution to the Griffin offense with a .286 (38-for-133) batting average, a .346 slugging percentage (SLG%), and a .329 on-base percentage (OBP). He totaled 20 runs and 12 RBI on six doubles, a triple, eight walks, and a beanball.
SENIOR (2015) – McLaughlin (39gp-38gs) offered an outstanding senior season with All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Second Team honors and the team’s Coach’s Award. McLaughlin led the Griffins in batting average (.353, 49-for-139), hits (49), runs-batted-in (RBI, 29), and stolen bases (23-of-27, 85.2%) with his average serving as the program second best single season effort; his RBI and steal totals ranked third all-time and his 49 hits fourth all-time. He offered eight doubles, two triples, and his first two collegiate home runs to post a .482 slugging percentage, and he scored 29 runs after walking six times on a .388 on-base percentage. All-time, McLaughlin ranks 2nd in games played (158), tied for 2nd in games started (155), 9th in batting average (168-for-586, .287), 1st in at-bats (586), 3rd in runs (102), 2nd in hits (168), 1st in doubles (29), tied for 8th in triples (4), tied for 10th in home runs (2), 5th in RBI (72), 3rd in total bases (211), tied for 9th in walks (43), 1st in stolen bases (75), and 4th in stolen base percentage (75-for-89, .843). He also earned recognition on the Chestnut Hill College Fall 2014 Athletic Academic Honor Roll and the CACC All-Tournament Team.
