Biography

FRESHMAN (2012) - Steen provided immediate impact for the Griffins. He started all 42 contests, playing primarily at third base. Steen ranked second on the team in batting (43-for-149, .289) while leading or tying for the team-lead in runs (33), doubles (6), triples (4), homeruns (1), total bases (60), and slugging (.403). He drew 28 walks to help generate a .402 on-base percentage and support an 11-of-18 (61.1%) stolen base success rate. Steen also made nine appearances on the mound. Over 17.0 innings, he allowed four runs on eight hits and ten walks to carry a team-low 2.12 earned-run-average (ERA) with his nine strike outs.
 
SOPHOMORE (2013) – Steen split time between third base and second base while making 46 starts in the Griffin lineup. At the plate, Steen contributed a .253 (41-for-162) batting average, 20 runs, seven doubles, a triple, a homerun, 15 runs-batted-in (RBI), 20 walks, and 12 stolen bases (12-for-15, .800). On the bump, Steen made five relief appearances. He allowed only two hits and struck out three in 4.2 innings of work.

JUNIOR (2014) – Steen served as the Griffins primary third baseman making 27 starts (33GP-29GS) at the hot corner. He turned in a .266 (29-for-109) batting average, a .275 slugging percentage (SLG%), and a .322 on-base percentage (OBP) that came with 12 runs, a double, and 15 RBI, nine walks, a beanball, and ten stolen bases (10-of-12, .833). Steen earned academic recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring 2014 All-Academic Team and both the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls.

SENIOR (2015) – Steen (39gs-39gp) batted .295 (39-for-132) with five doubles, three triples earing him a .379 slugging percentage. He scored 22 times and knocked in 23 runs while stealing 12 (12-of-15, .800) bases on a .362 on-base percentage. He earned recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring 2015 All-Academic Team and both the fall 2014 and spring 2015 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls. All-time, Steen ranks 1st in games played (161), 1st in games started (156), 3rd in at-bats (552), 5th in runs (87), 5th in hits (152), tied for 8th in doubles (19), 1st in triples (8), tied for 10th in home runs (2), 3rd in RBI (75), 5th in total bases (193), 3rd in walks (69), and 10th in stolen bases (45).
